Happy Mother's Day...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day today...I spent the evening with my daughter and  "grand-dog" Mocha...

Danyelle gave me the best gift a mother could ask for....She gave me this blanket that has all the kids pictures on it...since I love to cuddle with a blanket she thought it would be prefect...I will always have my kids close to my HEART!!!

Isn't it beautiful....(she knows how to make her mama cry)...

I am still not feeling well and I am still in NC while my hubby is in MD...He's so thoughtful and knows how to make me smile even when I'm feeling my worst...

Hopefully next year I will have all my kids and hubby with me!! (I had to get my own food today...LOL)

Like I never left...

My favorite times are the times spent with friends...it's the times of laughter that leaves a lasting memory...I made a quick visit to NC and one night of dinner with my closest friends made me feel like we've never been apart...

My son joined us and it just made it all that much more special!! It's been a long couple days and I have so much catching up to do...I just had to take the time out to share my memories of those in my life!!!

I share my birthday with someone very special "Jake"..."Happy Birthday"...I know you are celebrating in HEAVEN and we are celebrating here on earth with you...We would always see who wished who the ~Birthday Wish~ first...I got you first this year, Jacob!!

You would have turned 27 today,

Although you are so far away,
our hearts have kept you near...

The pain has eased a bit I guess,
yet has not gone away...

Good Bye Dinner...

You ever have to leave friends behind??? Very hard especially good ones!!! And, No One could ask for better friends than Carrie (Care Bear) and Byron (Bukie)...those are my names for them...all my close friends get nicknames...RIGHT HO-HO ;-) Kara is another blog!!! Anyways...Care Bear and Bukie know how to hold "Meetings" and throw great Karaoke parties...Ok!! you're wondering what the "Meetings" are...welllll....Let's just say - We raise our glasses and toast to us - in the kitchen that is...LOL...

We are talking about two people that would do anything for anyone and just have pure genuine hearts <3... they are someone you can always count on and I just can not say enough about what they do or have done for us!!! Care Bear & Bukie if I haven't said it before..."THANKS FOR BEING GREAT FRIENDS"...

Our last weekend in NC we went to dinner and just had a great time...I wonder if we still hold the record on the bar game machine??? (that's me & Bukie - it was tough finding all those differences...LOL) Darn Pinot...might have to head back down to O'Charley's and find out :) And, Care Bear drank the biggest Margarita and I tried to drink it with her but she wasn't sharing the ALCOHOL... It's memories like these that give me a reason to smile!!

When she was 5...

When she was 5...Oh!! how that seems like yesterday...That beautiful little 5 yr old is my daughter Danyelle..and she has outgrown my lap and has grown into a wonderful 25 yr old woman..I look back at pics and they bring big smiles to my face..It has been a joy being her mother and I am blessed with the greatest gift God could give and that was giving her to ME!!! I had her young and wouldn't do it any differently if I had to do again...What she doesn't realize that while I was teaching her as she was growing up...SHE was teaching me about life...love...and growing up as well...

My beautiful daughter, I was blessed with you...
You will never know how proud I am of all the things you do.
You came into my world, so tiny and so small...
And I was in awe at the wonder of it all.
Then you placed your little hand in mine...
There was no denying, my heart was yours 'til the end of time.
I have watched you through out the years, laugh, cry and grow...
And it is difficult as it was, that day came I had to let you go.
I just can't imagine, a day of my life without you...
Because you're a part of me and my love for you is true.
So just remember, no matter how old you are or where you may be...
There's someone who needs you and loves you and that someone is me!!!

Ugly Pink Dress

Yep!! You read the title right "Ugly Pink Dress"...We all have an ugly dress...mine just happens to be from "1991"...You remember..Big Hair...Big Sleeves...and Matching shoes!!! I just happened to have had the Big Hair...Big Sleeves...Matching PINK Shoes and lots & lots of lace...What was I thinking??? Oh let's add the bleach blonde hair...YIKES!!! Not so beautiful...LOL!!!

It's O.K... I'm not embarrassed it was me back in the day and I was obviously in STYLE! It's memories like this that make me look back and LAUGH...and I would do it over again in a minute...Those were some good times...You remember!!! You were probably right there with me...HAHA ;-)

The Day..

In life there are "Big" days..."Bigger" days...and then there is "The Day"...That "The Day" is my wedding day...we just won't say what number wedding it was ;-) ...You have to go through a lot of frogs to find your Prince...I found mine when I wasn't looking almost 6 yrs ago...I looked up one day and he was there...literally!! He walked in and sat right down at my business...That was on April 22, 2005...Two years later on April 22, 2007 we were married on "Dafuskie Island" it's a small island off Hilton Head in SC...It was just me, Chris and some Dolphins...oh yeah!! The Minister and Photographer...

We did not tell many people what we were doing...some knew before and some found out afterwards...we had some disappointed family members...But, I would do it like that again in a heartbeat...This was "OUR" day and "OUR" time...it wasn't about flowers..Reception...food..Expensive dresses and the chaos that goes with getting married...been there...done that!!! This was about Chris & me and our commitment to each other...

Mom & Dad

This is where it all began...MOM & DAD!!! Married over 45 yrs and you can probably tell that by the wedding photos...love the glasses (hehe)...I am needless to say a "Daddy's Girl"...my dad is funny, crazy  and loves to laugh...that's exactly where I get it from...My mom...well she's getting crabby in her old age but she would give you the shirt off her back and her last dollar...They are not the perfect parents but they are mine...Who could ask for more...They brought me into the world...now didn't they ;-)

I was taught to be independent and take care of myself...and if you want something in life you have to work for it...the best lessons in life I learned from them...just sometimes you don't realize that until later in life...

The beginning of my journey...Like most of you I lead a very busy, hectic life...I am non-stop from the time I wake-up until I go to bed....I am finishing my Bachelor's Degree and studying for my HR Certification on top  of it all...makes my brain hurt...LOL!! This is why I decided to start this blog...I set myself on a 365 day photo challenge and I enjoyed doing it so much (even if it's only been 3 days..hehe) I wanted to share my crazy journey with anyone who wanted to come along and ride that winding road with me...I won't bore you with a lot of talk unless you want to know something...I know I don't like to read a lot (I do that enough with school)...besides it's always more fun to look at life through pictures!!!
