Clean your oven!

Have you ever just took a look in your oven and just started shaking your head?

Clean Oven

We all know I just moved a month ago and if you didn't know you do now. :-)

One of my gross surprises was when I opened the oven. And, I'm pretty sure that this has been in there a while. That ewww was baked in there like toothpaste in a sink. You know the kind that takes a jackhammer to get it off.

Don't feel left out, you all know I like to share. So here ya go....

Clean Oven

Yeah! Kind of gross, huh??

But, don't worry I got this as long as I have this...

Get Clean Scour Off

It's my Shakelee paste. I use it for everything and I honestly have to say it is the best stuff ever. Even my bathtubs are squeaky clean. All I use is a damp cloth and the paste...easy peasy!

Here's the proof, you be the judge?

Good thing I don't bake, now it will always be shiny and new...LOL

So don't stress out and want to run out and by a new stove when you see something so shocking. It doesn't work anyways...the Mr. said, "No". Ha-Ha

Just get yourself some of this miracle cleaner.

And, you will be a happy camper!

Design your life with a little SPARKLE!

** I have not been paid or compensated for my post today. This has been my own personal experience and review. And, if it was crap I would be the first one to say so. LOL

Pantry Makeover...

I was bored today so I decided to organize a friends pantry...Good thing I'm her house guest (I can't wait to get in our home)...5 more days..woohoo.... She came home from work and just loved it...I get so excited when I can make someone's day...It was the least I could do since she is allowing me to crash at her house (for a month)...She even told my hubby that he can't have me back (uummm yeah he wasn't having none of that...hehe)

This is what she looked at everyday and it was driving me nuts...

How the heck can she find anything in there???...it was making me absolutely CRAZY that it was so
dis-organized...If I had to look at that everyday I would need therapy...LOL

Let's take a closer look....

I called her up and said I couldn't take it anymore I'm cleaning out that pantry...she was more than happy for me to do it...so I wasted NO time...

Everything OUT!!!!

This is what the pantry looked like when I took everything out of it....~skaking head~ ...

No that does not wash off!!!

This called for a paint job....so off to Lowe's I went...I found a really pretty Beige color paint for only $2.50 how could you not get it (happy dance woop woop)....Now that is a bargain...and it looks great in the pantry along with some shelf liner...Don't you think???

It's amazing how a fresh coat of paint can change a room (or pantry..hehe)....Now the fun was putting everything back...NOT!!! When you try to keep to a budget you have to be thrifty and unfortunately I don't live near any thrifty stores...Our goodwill sucks is small and the majority of the store is clothes...so I really only had Wal*mart and Target to work with...I went and purchased a couple baskets and used what I could find in the kitchen...

Baskets are great for chips, snacks and any item in packages that you can take out of a box to eliminate extra packaging...I put all the bags of chips in a big basket...added a carousel for the extra spices...another basket for oatmeal pkts, hot chocolate pkts, and everyone has ramen noodles in there kitchen...and I also put in a cute rack for here to see all her can food that she keeps in the kitchen (she has a shelf in the garage for extra storage)...

Here's another big basket for all the paper and plastic...a couple containers (she already had) for gravy and dressing packets...smaller baskets for snacks and popcorn...

I re-used this rack that she had spices in for her jello (those are for jello shots) yum yum!! and for dressing...

Here's the BEFORE.....

And....Here's the AFTER....

A coat of paint...shelf liner...a few baskets and you can turn any cluttered pantry into an organized  area that doesn't give you anxiety when you are looking for something (well atleast I won't get anxiety...lol) ...Oh and by the way she had items in there that were best used by Jan '06...

WHEN'S THE LAST TIME YOU CLEANED OUT YOUR PANTRY OR CABINETS???

Dusty Distraction...

As I am about to go through some crazy life changes...I was sitting at my desk making notes and figuring out how I wanted to share all those changes....UNTIL I looked down at my keyboard on my laptop and thought "What the heck"...I have an air duster why does it look so dusting down there...(OK...haven't used the air duster in a while)...But, still!!!

So, I popped off a key and kept popping off keys and this is what is lurking in your keyboard...

I'm not going to give you the details of what I think it all is...but here take a CLOSER look...(I have allergies...I wonder if this is the reason my eyes itch all the time)....OK maybe NOT!!!
Well, If you are like me you can't start something and not finish it (easily distracted) and I was not going to be happy with just blowing the dust and yuck out of there so it can fly all over my desk (how's that for a run-on sentence)...haha

Instead of trying to figure out where all the keys actually go...I just popped off 1 (one) row at at time...if you are going to do this...BE VERY CAREFUL!!!! Those keys are hooked into little plastic clips...and I don't know if you can afford a new laptop but I know I can't...

I have a little eyeglass kit in my desk drawer and the itty bitty screw driver worked great helping me pop all those keys out...

All I used to clean out my laptop was Q-tips, water and vinegar (I use water and vinegar for everything)...I have a spray bottle already mixed (and NO I didn't squirt the mixture onto the keyboard) LOL...I just squirted some of the mixture on a little tray and rolled my Q-tip around...SQUEEZED off excess water and started wiping away...
I just couldn't believe a laptop can get so dirty...NO EATING ALLOWED around it...mmmmm maybe a few snacks ~wink wink~...(After the "It's gonna be gross") I'll spare you the dirty Q-tip photos ;-)

Moving along!!!!

After every row was complete I wiped the keys off and popped them back on...13 Q-tips and 2 hours later I have a nice clean, shiney keyboard!!! (Not what I had planned today but "Crazy Life" happens)...

HAVE YOU EVER GOT DISTRACTED???

It's gonna be gross!!!

THIS IS GOING TO BE GROSS...SO BEWARE!!!!!

I have long hair and I shed more hair than a person probably should...my hubby told me one time to get the small animal I left in the shower out...LOL!!!

We no longer have a stand up shower which was so much easier to clean the hair up...If you have a tub you know what I'm talking about..."Clogged Drain"...You can use all the Drano you want but once your hair starts clogging up that drain it's all over...You might as well be prepared to stand in a couple inches of water in the bottom of the tub...

If you use one of the hair catcher nets over your drain the water drains really slow...It's never ending especially if there is more than one female in the house sharing the shower...Um Yeah!! You know where I'm going....There is "NO" Drano helping this situation...

Look what I discovered... Zip It Drain Cleaner...It was cheap and worth a try...I have nothing to lose...half my hair is all twisted down the drain anyways....haha!!!

So, I'm thinking how can a plastic stick unclog my drains??? Well here goes nothing...

OK...THAT IS REALLY GROSS!!!!! ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO LOOK....
~GROSS FACE....

(Not to mention it smelled like a dirty fish tank)...

Good thing I had rubber gloves on...that was the most disgusting thing I have seen in a long time...(I'll spare you the rest of the pics)....I couldn't bring myself to post them...~vomit~....BUT...that plastic drain cleaner cleaned my drain and no more water build up...

It was so easy and cleaned the drain like a charm (Happy Dance)...

How can one complain for only $2.24 + shipping.... That is cheaper than Drano!!!

WHAT DO YOU USE TO CLEAN YOUR DRAINS???

Getting Started...

I’ve been staying in a hotel while I am visiting friends and family in Pa…And, I’ve spent a lot of time in the hotel…WHY??? Because I got sick L
It’s been relaxing though…I’ve finished my classes for this semester…I got some reading done and have time to think about how I’m going to begin my home re-do…Organizing is a process and if you want to clear out clutter you really do have to have a plan and don’t tackle it all at once…
You need to pick a room and stick to it until your done before you move on to the next room…It is going to take time so if you have a busy schedule you will want to make the time to organize…I’m not talking “Oh! I will do it Saturday afternoon”..or..”I’ll start it Sunday while my hubby is watching sports”…I am telling you that you need to schedule it in your calendar like an appointment…This will be the commitment you need to start what you’ve always wanted to accomplish…There is no need to run out and spend money on a day planner…use what you have around your house…tablet, journal, calendar, etc…
Once we know where we are going to start, we are going to need a few things:
This first thing is some cleaning supplies to wipe everything down as we organize…I use all natural cleaners: water, vinegar, and baking soda…
I also always carry my pretty pink measuring tape…this is very handy when you are organizing…I measure an area I want to put a container or basket…then I take that tape measure to the store…I don’t know how many times I’ve bought something…come home…and it didn’t fit…you want to talk about mad…(BIGGEST PET PEEVE….RETURNING SOMETHING)…
We will have 3 piles “THROW AWAY”… “PUT AWAY”… “GIVE AWAY”…You can buy containers, crates, baskets but I just use my recyclable shopping bags…they are easy to carry, convenient, and easy to store when we are done using them…
Time to PURGE…If you haven’t worn it…used it…or touched in a year…Chances are you won’t…believe me when it comes to giving away my things especially clothes or shoes I just want to cry or go back and grab it and say “Wait, I might wear that if…blah blah blah”…yet usually doesn’t happen..But, I have learned some tricks and tips I will share as we go through each room…Just remember…If you haven’t seen it or used it…you probably won’t miss it!!!
What do you take into every room when you are cleaning it???
