Big Announcement!!

Yep!! I said AGAIN. This will be our 8th move in 8 yrs. And, that is another story for another day. I'm not happy about moving again but I am excited for all the endless crafting, decorating, and DIY projects I will be doing.

So, let me give you a quick tour.

I really wish it had a big front porch, but maybe the next house, ha-ha. Well, don't just stand out there come on in. As you come in the house you are in the living room.

Excuse the mess we are working on a few things. The floors just got lightly sanded and awaiting a coat of varnish. They will be beautiful in no time. (you know I will show you when they are done)

Come through the living room to the kitchen. This room needs some work. Those cabinets are getting a coat of paint, I just have to decide if I want to go black or white. Then some new appliances, at least a new fridge. Cabinet space is going to be an issue. But, it's a breath of fresh air compared to my galley kitchen I have now.

As you walk through the kitchen you are in the laundry room.

Across from the laundry room is the 1/2 bath. Don't you just love the mirror?? It will look so much better with some color in that room. Hmm, wonder what color I should paint it!!

Then we have the garage. I am staying the heck out....

Let's go back in the house and head upstairs. Look at that brand new carpet. Now to give them walls some color. When you go upstairs you can take a right and go upstairs to the bonus room or take a left and go upstairs to the bedrooms.

Let's head to the bonus room. WARNING!!! You might burn your retina on the color of this room..

Holy blue, Right?? Definitely getting a coat of paint. But the floors are gorgeous. Now, let's head to the other side of the house.

The upstairs hallway is pretty big. And, also getting a coat of paint. Any decor ideas?

The bedrooms need some serious color and I am planning on doing something with them ugly flat doors. I am open to some good suggestions.

This will be our youngest room until June. Then it becomes a guest bedroom!

The second bedroom is going to be either the craft room or office. Looking more like the craft room. I have some frustration going on with this decision.

Excuse the mess in the guest bathroom. It's getting a new floor. Then a coat of paint and some cabinet color as well.

Here's the master bedroom. Not as big as I would like but we can't have it all.

The master bath is also getting a new floor, then some paint as well.

Now the walk-in closet makes me cry! This is going to take some maneuvering to get everything in there. There is some room behind the door as well.

Let's head out back and this will conclude the tour of my new home. Sorry for the bright picture the sun was out in full force. There is a huge cement patio the whole length of the back of the house. And, I do have the furniture to fill it up!!

Thanks for visiting our new home. We should be all moved in by the end of February. I am super excited to transform it in to a beautiful home. There will be lots of painting. So, if you have any good suggestions or ideas I am ready to hear them.

I hope you come back to watch the progress, let's meet back here every Monday.

Have a CRAZY BEAUTIFUL week!!

Please come vote for me!! Pretty Please!!!

When things don't work...

When things don't work...What do you do???

You find a way to make them work..

We downsized this summer from a 2400 sq ft house to a 1400 sq ft house...Even though I love the smaller house (less to clean)...I still have unused rooms...

I have always had rooms in my homes that you can look at just DO NOT enter...You know the ones that have the pretty furniture and all the crystal....or how about that dining room that has all the dishes sitting on the table waiting for someone to eat on it...

(nice dead plant in the corner)

It's always fun to clean a room  that no one uses (NOT)...The kids are grown and it's hard to get everyone together for meals...and I'm tired of washing dishes that don't get used...

It's time to take the space and make it more usable for my lifestyle...

I have an office...
(taken when we first moved in)

Now I'm thinking of turning it in to a home studio...were I can paint and do any creating...basically where I can make a mess...

I just love these art/craft rooms...

Now for the dining room...This room has been a dilemma for me for a while...I have been debating on keeping it a dining room or turning it into the home office...You can read about it here...

I received some wonderful suggestions...

It would be so much easier to keep it a dining room...BUT, if lucky it only gets used once year...I would love to entertain but it does not fit into my lifestyle right now...I think it's time to sell the dining room set...I can always get a NEW one in a couple years if I feel there is a need for it...

I have NO PROBLEM shopping for new furniture...lol

Here are some wonderful dining room/office inspirations...

Your home should work for you...You should not work for your home!!!

Time to utilize the un-used space in my home....

I would love to hear any ideas or thoughts from all my "crazy friends"...

HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT MAKING AN UNUSED ROOM FUNCTIONAL AGAIN???

10 More Days....

After being without my hubby for almost a month...being sick with my ears (which is not better)...staying at a dear friends house...I'm 10 days away from moving into our new home...It still seems so far away...It makes it hard to blog when all you do is lay around and don't have your things (not to mention being sick)...

I didn't want anyone to think I fell off the face of the earth so I needed to blog about something...I actually miss blogging and chatting with other blog friends...(I'm such a bad blogger)...I am working on a project but you will have to wait until it's done :)

So in the meantime I thought I would give you a tour of our new home...(I welcome any thoughts or ideas)...

I really really really wish it had a front porch....(truck is not ours)....and the BIG rock is covering the well pump...never had well water so I'm a bit nervous...

Well let's go inside before I go on and on about what I would change about the outside (are we ever happy???...LOL)... This is a downsize for us from 2400 sq ft to about 1400 sq ft...So come on in!!

This is standing in the entrance looking into the living room...Love the stone fireplace (wish the mantle was bigger)...Maybe I'll paint it...How will my stuff ever fit..I guess it will be really time to purge...

Opposite the living room is the dining room...

Now on to the kitchen...it's the smallest kitchen I have ever had so this will be the real challenge to see how will I can do BIG things with small spaces...

NOT a fan of the white appliances...I have a black fridge (I just bought a little over a yr ago - crying) and microwave but it really won't go too well with the white stove and dishwasher...it will definitely be a challenge figuring out where to put all my kitchen things...(head slap) .. I can do this!!! (or so I keep telling myself)

OK!! Let's move on...off to the master bed and bath...

If anyone has had those awful lights in their bathroom then you know how ugly they really are...but I've changed them before and I can change them again ;-)

It was hard for me to get pictures of the other 2 bedrooms...they look super super little in the photos I did get...I'll try again next week when I get the keys (which will be in 6 days)...

Here's the 2nd bath...(with another ugly light fixture)

The deck on the back of the house is really big (well until I try to fit all my patio furniture on it) and a big backyard with a fire pit....

I hope you enjoyed the tour and I look forward to having lots of before & after pics...Which we ALL love!!! It will also be an "adventure" to watch me purge...and if you know me or been following "My Crazy Beautiful Life" than you will know that DOES NOT come easy for me :-)

I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING ANY DECORATIVE SUGGESTIONS!!!
(OR JUST A THOUGHT OR TWO)

I think I'm going to just get everything settled and than start my home re-do one room at a time...I can't wait to share all my "CRAZINESS" with you ;-)

I HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GREAT WEEKEND!!!!

Decisions...Decisions...

I've become a slacker...but with good reason...I've been having some problems with my ears...constantly feels like I'm in an airplane...but anyways...let's talk about my other decisions...decisions...

No secret "I'M MOVING"...And, we are downsizing from a 2400 sq ft house to a 1300-1400 sq ft house...I am excited to downsize now that I only have one kid left at home...well for 2 more years (woo hoo and woo hoo..again) can you hear the excitement in my voice...if not I will say it again (WOO HOO)...

Ok back to the decision making...I have a dining room and all though I am over the oak look...I'm afraid to attempt to sand and stain my dining room set...I had it Amish made and although I never really use it...I don't know if I want to put it in the new dining room or take the leaf (it has 3 leafs...not sure what I was thinking I never feed that many people..lol) out of it and put it in the kitchen...but I do have a high top kitchen set...

Let's take a look...here's the dining room now...Borinngggg....(and YES...I take the dishes off once a month and run them through the dishwasher) CRAAAAZEEEE....

 and here's my kitchen set...

Here's the kitchen in the new house...

And, here's the new dining room...

The dining room opens into the living room and I was thinking that I might like to turn it into an office cause I kind of like this look (I'm talking the placement...not the furniture...)...

Ughh!! I already have a headache from my ear problems and now trying to squeeze in my decisions...decisions...(headslap) well not really that would hurt...LOL

I have about 5 weeks to decide...Dining room or "NO" Dining room...I could always put the office in the 3rd bedroom (that's were it is now)...Use the dining room set in the kitchen or the high-top set??? How does one decide (Are you confused yet?? I AM)...If I only had about 50 grand I could just go buy all new and start all over...Haha...Wouldn't that be nice ;-)

Thanks for listening to me ramble!!!

ANY SUGGESTIONS???...PLEASE & THANK YOU ;-)

Let's get this move on the road...

First truck has been loaded... and delivered...Bad news...:( it took 2 storage units and that was only half of our belongings....I was just standing there in awe that I actually have that much "CRAP" ...Now I know that someone needs to stop me...It took a 26ft truck...that took a whole lot of $$$ to move a whole bunch of who knows what....(meds time)

We have so much going on that we decided to haul my car back to NC and store it at a friends house...this will be easier on us when it comes time for the "real" moving day...My hubby is looking a bit confused..."Yes, dear that's where the car goes"...LOL (Poor guy is running on 3 hrs sleep and has to drive 9 hrs)..

Better him then me...I don't think me driving this down the interstate would have been a good idea...but it sure would have been entertaining....

We finally arrived 8.5 hours later...through 8 hrs of rain....and lots of $$$ in gas.... (and more anxiety meds)...lol...oh crap I should of been drinking the wine I brought the whole time...but than again the way I bounced around in that truck I would have been bouncing more than my back out of place...(glad you guys came with me...wasn't a bad ride for you was it??? ;-)

Oh I didn't mention it was also our "Anniversary" Friday...my hubby provides me with such adventure...but we did manage to get a nice little dinner in (we dressed for the occasion...not)...neither one of us lasted very long...The glass of wine about knocked me out...

So, lets move on to some fun stuff...House hunting...and I'm about to take you on the fun ride...NOTE TO SELF...When a realtor sends you pics be prepared for those houses to look noting like it..."Photoshop" should not be allowed...ha ha (the grass is never that green and lush)

Well, let's go...House #1...Not a fan of all that hardwood but that's just me...But just to point out a few things...look at the HEIGHT of the kitchen island...I'm only 5'1"...I would never be able to see over the top....lol!!! The master bedroom has blue stained carpet and would fit a queen bed but you might as well toss your night stands and dresser because they are not fitting...Oh the wallpaper (self explanatory)...love the deck and yard....

HOUSE #2...I have to REMEMBER we are DOWNSIZING....so I have to be open to smaller space living...Good thing I have my friend Roberta over at Contain it to help me with living large in smaller spaces...

I have black appliances which would go perfect in this kitchen...guess I would have to store them in the garage...but otherwise there was nothing too wrong with this 3 bedroom house...Well when you are downsizing you have to take the good with the bad...

House #3...It is a very nice house with lots of rooms...family room...living room, sitting room...kitchen and 4 bedrooms...not much of a back yard and a cement slab....TOO BIG FOR ME!!! (My therapist would be so proud of me)...ha ha

House #4....LOVING THE VIEW AREN'T YOU????
Well who wouldn't ...But I couldn't even go in the house to take pics....I smelled the mold as soon as the front door was opened...and had to PASS!!!

House #5...Someone really liked wallpaper and border....I was going cross eyed in that kitchen....It would be a good place to diet...you would lose your appetite sitting in there...(do people still use wallpaper??) maybe I'm missing something...Oh I left out the best parts....the chewed corners of the cabinets and the holes in the carpet due to all the CATS with CLAWS!!! (that made for a bad allergy attack and house hunting was over) ...

Thanks for spending the day with me...and I'm sure all my creative friends are having some great  ideas brewing they would like to share and are ready to give me some advice & in-site on House #1, 2, 3, 4 and 5...

This was a quick summed up "Crazy" journey...Thanks for sharing it with me ;-)
